Kaylee McElle Smith 

I cultivated the attributes of a strategic communicator through media long before I realized it. These necessary qualities work together to create a professional mindset that allows me to effectively communicate messages and goals to an audience. Some of my main personal strengths in strategic communication are presented in my organization, attention to detail, and creativity. These skills are important as they are my reason for coming into this field and in developing them further, they enable me to apply them to new projects and endeavors.

When I am presented with a task, I find myself planning out the entire process in detail, from start to finish, before I begin. I know how to cater my writing organization to be both appropriate and most effective for the type of format and audience by which it will be read. Also, I understand the importance of spatial flow and balance and prioritize qualities such as these throughout my work in print and digital. Small details often are overlooked in a large project and may seem insignificant to many. However, I believe that each small detail plays a significant role in creating the bigger picture. Creativity is at the heart of everything that I do and is what brought me to strategic communication. My passion and keen eye for visual aesthetics are truly a form of how I express myself in my work. I excel in balancing my own artistic taste with the look of an existing brand to create something new yet cohesive.

I make for an outstanding strategic communicator because of the attributes that I have accumulated throughout both my academic and professional career. Through continuing my work and growth in the strategic communication field, I am able to contribute my passions and abilities to produce high-quality messages for any medium.
